Scientific oration with the title "DISCOVERY AND DEVELOPMENT OF ANTI-CANCER MEDICINE FROM HERBAL PLANTS OF STONE PARTS (Medicinal Begonia) ORIGIN IN MOROWALI REGENCY, CENTRAL SULAWESI”, which was delivered before the Extraordinary Senate Meeting in the framework of the 20th Anniversary 41 Tadulako University (18/08) led this Lecturer in the Pharmacy Study Program to become a member of the Council of Professors at Tadulako University. He was also inaugurated as a Professor in the field of Pharmacology and is currently Untad's youngest Professor, as well as the first Professor in the field of Pharmacology owned by the Department of Pharmacy FMIPA.
Born in Watampone in November 1980, Professor Solomon, completed his studies at the Hasanuddin University Pharmacy Study Program before reaching the Pharmacist profession in 2005 and earned a Masters Degree from the same University in 2010. The highest educational level-Doctorate was completed at King Abdul Aziz University (Arab Saudi) in the year 2015 after completing his research onSecondary Metabolites from Saudi Marine Invertebrate”
After returning to serve at Tadulako University, Prof. Sulaiman developed research to find medicinal ingredients derived from local ingredients, especially plant species in Sulawesi. Including the Benalu Batu (Medicinal Begonia) and Moringa (Moringa oleifera) which can be scientifically proven to have potential in treatment, including fighting the Covid-16 virus (Sars-Cov2) who have played a role in changing the world order through the resulting Pandemic.
Through a series of in-depth research, apply the latest technology Nanotechnology, Melocular Docking dan Informatics, able to identify the active ingredients (from these local plants and shows potential as a medicinal ingredient. The research outputs have been reported in several publications in reputable international scientific journals. Hopefully his work can help overcome the national problem in the supply of medicinal ingredients which are still very expensive and most of them are still imported from abroad.
