Hammer, 6 May 2024 – UNTAD's FMIPA Physics Study Program has taken major steps in improving the quality of education by preparing for an Outcome-Based Education-based curriculum (OBE).
Mr. Elisa Sesa, S.Si, M.Si, Ph.D as Head of the Physics Study Program FMIPA UNTAD explained that this change was not just a revision, but rather a transformation towards an OBE-based curriculum. He hopes that with this new curriculum, Physics Study Program graduates will be ready for a career as academic staff, research assistant, bureaucrat, and self-employed according to the desired graduate profile.
In curriculum workshop activities, The Physics study program invited a resource person, namely Mr. Dr. rer. nat. Bintoro Anang Subagyo, Head of the Physics Department of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, Surabaya. Several things will be done to implement an OBE-based curriculum, namely adjusting the number of Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), determination of credits for each course, changes in course structure, and preparing Semester Learning Plans (RPS). Next, The follow-up to this activity is the consolidation of the draft curriculum, evaluation of the previous curriculum, and preparing course RPS in stages. However, The OBE curriculum draft must be completed in advance in preparation for implementation in the Odd Semester 2024/2025.
In an interview with the Head of the Physics Study Program, He hopes that the Physics Study Program will remain superior and have an established curriculum. Then, every academic staff, educational staff, and laboratory assistants can carry out curriculum demands well.
